Leptotyphlops sylvicolus – Forest Thread Snake

Averaging 8-10cm may reach 13cm

Colour:
A blackish silvery grey with lighter edged scales.

Habitat:
Varied from grasslands to costal forests.

Field Notes:
An insignificant looking snake which is thin and wiry often confused with earth worms. Found sheltering beneath rocks, stones and rotting logs. Often preyed upon by small birds as well as snake Harlequin Snakes.
